POPI Compliance Information Series
Over the next few months, Nelson Mandela University will be sharing information in the adjacent fact- sheet poster series about the new Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
The University, like all other public and private bodies, has been given a grace period until 1 July 2021 to implement the appropriate legal collection, processing, possession, distribution, storage and other systems to protect the personal identifiable information (PII) of individuals, to become compliant in terms of the Act.
These fact sheet posters to create awareness are aimed at both sensitising staff as to the importance of the Act and the urgent need to act if your division is not yet POPI compliant.
